desktop screen

i restarted my pc and when it came back on my desktop was narrower and on the
left hand side is a white sidebar that has folder tasks, other places, and
details on it. i cant right click on it, delete it or move it. it is less
like a sidebar and more like it is a part of the desktop. how can i remove
this?

Sounds like you have created a folder toolbar on the side of your
desktop. This can be done by using the left button to drag a folder
that is on the desktop to the edge of the desktop and releasing it
there.

To get rid of it, right click on a vacant spot on the white section of
the toolbar and select "Toolbars" then click on the name that has a
tick next to it to deselect it. It should then go away
