Desktop rotated 90 degrees

Hello. I was typing a message and my fingers slipped near the left arrow
key alt buttons on the right and the cntrl, maybe fn and alt, on the left.
Somehow, whatever combination I accidentally typed rotated the entire display
90 degrees counterclockwise. Any suggestions on how to right my display so
that I don't hae to turn my computer on its side?

Thanks!

Perhaps CTRL+ALT+Up arrow? Or investigate the Display Properties for
screen rotation.

Does the screen now say: "If you can read this, report to the Student Health
Center to have your head rotated?"

If not, check Display/Settings.

I've seen this often with Intel's integrated graphics, as part of
motherboards that use the "...G" series of Intel chipsets. Perhaps
other graphics cards do this too, but the fix may differ.

By duhfault, the Intel graphics software includes a feature whereby if
you press certain key combinations, the display can be rotated 90, 180
or 270 degrees. This can be nice, e.g. allows you to use a monitor on
its side as a "portrait" monitor, better suited for displaying layouts
for pages to be printed out.

The trouble is, it's easy to hit those magic hotkey combinations by
mistake, as you may have done. The hot keys may be: Ctl+Alt+arrow, so
try those and see if you can spin the display straight!

Once you've done that, look for a Systray icon for Intel's display
management. In there, look for checkboxes to disable hotkeys, and
perhaps rotation, so you don't have this problem again. If there's no
Systray icon, try rt-click desktop for Display Properties, go Settings
and Advanced if need be, and look for added-on pages (tabs)
