My desktop picture has been replaced with a message saying my computer has
been infected with spyware... I cannot change it back. Any help?

I am fighting this on my brothers computer. You have been infected with a
virus. If you look in your add and remove programs in your control panel you
should find a program called home shopping assistant. There are a few other
programs in there with simalar names. I found 3 total. They will not remove
from there. If you try to remove them from the add/remove program it will
take you to a site that says you need to download some program to remove it.
I believe this is another virus or spyware so i didnt do that. Do a web
search for home shopping assistant and you will find many ways to help remove
it. All seem to be very difficult.

Good Luck

Hi Jason,
A week ago I had the same problem(blue screen with black box in the middle
with the same message--spyware on my pc....blah blah). If you want to, find my
post and you can get rid of it....I did.

It really helped me and I'm happy to say everything is working fine.
P.S First of all I got rid of older version of Java and then used the link
"SmitRem".
Hope it works for you too.
