Desktop Instant Search Crash.

Hi I have upgraded my laptop to Vista Home Premium. I have a 2 GHz processor
& 1023 MB RAM, 32 bit. I have updated it fully, and also installed Office
2007 Pro.
I have had a couple of blue screen disasters since the upgrade (None
Previous to the Vista upgrade XP Pro) which i have now noticed results from
using the instant search on the desktop. If i type into the instant search
box on the desktop the computer shuts down instantly. I do not get the blue
screen now, i need to just start it after the shut down

Hi, no i didnt check with the manufacture, i ran the MS Vista Upgrade advisor
which ran a scan and informed me it was compatible with all versions of Vista
and that there were no system issues in upgrading.
Tha laptop is a Novatech, Model No 259EN1

Hi,

The Upgrade Advisor isn't all it's cracked up to be. It will report known
incompatibilities, but it will not recognize other unknowns (ie: it's not a
"smart" tool). I generally recommend that one use it in concert with data
from the system manufacturer. I searched on that model, and found several
references to it being compatible only with XP. This may be a BIOS issue or
video adapter incompatibility, it was hard to find any decent
specifications. I would suggest you check with Novatech support to see if
there is a compatibility issue and if there is a resolution.
