Desktop IE icon replaced with shortcut

Unable to get properties with the 7 tabs on for cleaning
files / cookies excetera from left clicking on desktop
icon/properties. Help...
 
Try putting the IE icon back.

Desktop icon
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Advanced
Check "Show Internet Explorer on the desktop"

For XP:
Control Panel-Display Properties-Desktop tab.
Customize Desktop

Use Control Panel's Internet Options applet.

Alternatively Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter:)

control inetcpl.cpl
