I have webshots as my desktop and screensaver.
Blue is the desktop background.
The trouble is that the text of the icons appears in a blue rectangel.

I went to system properties, advanced, performance and selected "drop
shadows".
this wa supposed to get rid of the blue. it did not.

any ideas???????

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab)
and uncheck "Lock Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY.

Also, check this setting:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply".
