Blue background on desktop icons

I'm not sure how this happened, but all of my desktop icons now have a solid blue backround on the desktop icons, with a blue outline roung the actuall icons, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've tried the 'drop shadows' option in system>advanced but it apparently has nothing to do with this. Any ideas?
