I've been running Vista Home Premium for almost 6 months. When I booted up
recently, I noticed that 3 of my desktop icons -- Outlook, Turbo Tax, and
Dell Support -- had lost their distinctive logos, which were replaced w/
generic icons. I restored the Outlook icon by deleting it and creating a new
short cut from the All Programs menu. Unlike Outlook, however, the other
programs have the same generic logos in that menu and creating new shortcuts
had no effect. I tried re-booting, also w/ no effect. Obviously, this is not
of critical importance, but it seems pretty strange to me.

I wouldn't like to speculate as to what may have caused it, but you should
be able to restore the icons by right-clicking the shortcuts > Properties >
Change icon.

Then browse to the executable for Turbo Tax, etc, and select a suitable icon
within it.

thanks.
