desktop icons

i have recently installed a second computer for my son. the desktop icons are
larger than on my own system and i cannot move the icons as i can i my
system. both systems run xp home sp2. any suggestions on how to correct this
problem would be appreciated.
 
Right click on the Desktop and select "Arrange Icons by"
Make sure "Lock Items on Desktop" is not checked.

As for the size of the icons - are you both running the same Screen resolution ?

Right click on the desktop, select Properties.
Select settings:
Are your screen resolutions the same?
