Desktop Icons Rearranged when exit FS software

I recently loaded Xplane flight simulator software.
Everytime I exit the program, the desktop icons are
rearranged to the left in alphabetical (sort'a) order. I
had them custom arranged with the grid lock by program
groups but now they are just in columns by some order
that really isn't alpha - not sure what the system is
using to arrange them. Any help as to what I can do to
stop the program from doing this will be appreciated.

Right-click a blank area on the Desktop. In the menu, click on "Arrange
icons by", and in next list, uncheck "Auto-arrange".
