Desktop Icon to quik launch bar?

Unlock the taskbar and drag that icon onto the quicklaunch toolbar.
That was easy, wasn't it.
 
Rod,

Right-click the icon & hold the right button down, drag to the QuickLaunch & release the
right button. You will get a context menu to move/copy or create shortcut

Second way is navigate to:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username here]\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch

Providing 'C:\' is the drive you have Windows installed
