desktop icon text with backgrounds

How do you remove the background colour behind the text under each desktop icon?

I have a photo as a background and do not want to see a coloured background behind the
text

Thanks!

Sorry John, but I do not think you understand!

The text under each icon has a colour. You can change it in properties, but I want to
remove it altogether

Search for the original photo by name, it'll be on your HDD.

Hi,

Go to the Control Panel/System applet/Advanced tab, click on the performance
settings button. On the Visual Effects tab, scroll to near the bottom,
ensure that "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" is checked. If
it isn't, check it and apply/ok your way out.

Also, right click the desktop, click on 'arrange icons by', and make sure
'lock web items on the desktop' is not checked.
