Desktop icon arrangement question

Using WinXP SP2. I have many icons on my desktop. Is it possible to
group them based on my preference, for example, graphics, music, finance
etc. and display only group icons?
Then, for example, if the graphics icon is clicked the desktop would
display only icons belonging to this group.

the solution seems that
you can create a folder on
the desktop that will be displayed
as an icon.

then you can move the other
icons which are shortcuts
into that particular folder.

by creating several folder
each can contain the particular
icons you want as a group / category.

you can create folders
by right clicking on the
an unused area on desktop
then selecting new folder
option.

after you create
your folders / icons on the
desktop, you can then
right click on them
to get the properties page
to further customize those folder
icons.

Thanks, a great idea!

Sure. Create a folder on the desktop for each of those categories and
name it appropriately. Then drag the existing icons into those folders
as desired.
