desktop icns keep moving

I use the windows classic desktop andhave all my icons in order on the left
side of the screen. WinXP always moves them around every time I adjust the
size or spacing and sometimes it even rearranges them when I reboot. For
example, I like to have 'My Computer' in the upper left hand corner (where
it always was through all versions of Win9X), but WinXP insists on putting
'My Documents' up there. I've tried auto arrange, align to grid and lock
icons but nothing stops XP from rearranging them every time I adjust their
appearance. What's the problem here?

Thanks - Gil Theissen
