Desktop has changed - Please help

Hoping someone can help me. This happened once before and I cannot remember
how to fix it. Somehow the left hand side of my desktop now is the blue side
bar from the "My Computer" window. On my desktop I see the folder tasks,
other tasks and the details from the my computer window, it has pushed my
entire screen to the right. No matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of
it. The number one problem beside it looking ugly is that I can no longer
see the icons that were on the right hand side of my screen. It seems this
has appeared on the left of my desktop and pushed my regular desktop
background over to the right.
 
Thank you ... It was driving me crazy for about an hour trying to figure out
in windows what to change. I had tried everything I could think of. The link
fixed the problem and unlocked all of my icons as well.
