Desktop display photo: won't stretch or tile

I try to display a photo as the desktop background (from Display Properties
Menu, Desktop Tab). If I select "Tile" or "Center" only a very enlarged
portion of the photo is displayed, full-screen size. (But the "Stretch"
option displays the photo okay.) This happens only with .jpg files I took
with a Sony camera. Other pictures, such as those downloaded from the net,
work fine at all settings. I tried adjusting the screen resolution but that
didn't fix it.

I use Windows XP SP2.

Thanks,
Ed

The resolution of the photo is greater than that of the desktop. If you open the image in Paint and
check 'Image' -> 'Attributes', you probably see that the dimensions of the photo are greater than
your desktop resolution. If you want a version of the photo you can center, you need to use a
graphics editor to create a copy resized smaller than the original.
