desktop clock year 1601

i just installed win xp home. now when i boot up i get
message saying time and invalid. it reads jan 1 1601. i
have gone into settings and adjusted to correct time and
date. they stay current whiule i am on cpu. once i log off
and then reboot same message appears with same date jan 1
1601. i have changed the battery did not fix problem. the
clock in my bios is running with the current time and
date. any suggestions. thanks

See if your Movo manufacturer or Computer OEM has an updated BIOS.

Actually this weird time thing is Motherboard specific, it is where your
hardware starts to count time from and this is currently set at a low level
(in the BIOS settings ). You can TRY to change this from safe mode in
Windows to see if it "sticks" if not you will need a BIOS update or a new
computer to resolve this issue.

Either that or your computer has traveled back in time and is now a sewing
loom. ; )
