Desktop Align to Grid No Longer Works

The align to grid function for the desktop no longer works.

Right clicking on the desktop and going to view shows align to grid is
checked but the icons do not align to a gird.

Anybody know how to fix this?

I'll appreciate the help.

I know it was a dumb question... just had to check.

Have you tried unchecking, okaying, then checking it back on, and okaying?

Yes, it done all that and rebooted too.

None worked.

Found the problem.

I had installed Norton Ghost v. 9.

It wouldn't work with Vista so I uninstalled and align to grid returned.
