I wanted to put a shortcut on my desktop to an item on the
web. However when I right clicked, I saved it to my desk
top. How do I remove the item which is a picture now on my
desk top? Thank you for your help.

Right click the Desktop, select Properties, Desktop, Customize Desktop, Web tab. Remove the content there.

Drag the shortcut to the Recycle Bin, or, right-click on the shoertcut and
select Delete.
