Deploying Windows XP using WinPE

Hi All

I am newbie to work on automated deployments, I am not sure if this is the
correct form but actually looking for a guide to help me clear my doubts. One
is that i am not fully aware of WinPE Technology in it's native form. I heard
it's a replacement of DOS with a GUI, now if that is true i am not sure if i
can simply create a GIU based CD to boot from an Image Server of my choice
and Start the deployment. I want to create a WinPE Bootable CD where i can
specify the name of server to start deployment from. If some can suggest me
step-by-step procedure or some resource that would help me a lot.

many thanks

Kara

I was doing unatteded Imaging of Win 2k pro earlier using a network boot
floppy where i could specify the netbios name of the server. This way my
floppy was location independent. I am probbaly looking sane kind of
functionality on a CD with Winpe GUI. need help!

Thanks

You can do this with pe without any problems.
you have a chm file in the docs directory. That will give you a
introduction to pe.
Pe can handle HTA vb or java script and batchfiles, it wan't handle true
dos apps.
