Shutdown WinPE

Guest

I am getting an error when I boot to PE from the hard drive. The error is
“Shutdown WinPE...†there is a drop down with options. Has anyone seen this?
It doesn’t happen when I have a WinPE bootable CD in the driver.

I am making a WinPE image using PowerQuest deploy center. We want to deploy
a WinPE partition to the hard drive and then deploy our standard image.

Thanks.

Liberty,

Can you check your WinBOM.INI file and verify that there's a line that says
Restart=None

Also, is your WinBOM.INI file at the same level in the folder structure as
the i386 folder (not *in* the i386 folder)?

Mike -

I tried you suggestions and I am still getting the reboot prompt. I rebuilt
my WinPE source and am still getting the error. I don't get the error when I
boot from the CD or have the CD (that I used to boot from when I copied the
files to my HD) in the bay when I boot from the HD.

Thanks.

Make sure you only have one winbom.ini file and that you placed it
either in "\" (root) or in the \minint\system32 folder

You don't need to rebuild the WinPE Image

Thanks. Putting the winbom.ini on the root worked. A co-worker actually
found the fix by looking at the search order in the help files. Thanks for
responding.
