Did you tought about implementing WSUS in the server? It is the best way to
keep Windows XP clients updated.

How would i do that? My server is Windows Server 2003 Standard with Exchange
Server installed. I have a mixture of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista
computers.

I would like to do this as well, but I only have Win2000 Servers in my

which will do this???

A WSUS server will allow you to download/install ONLY updates you wish on
PCs in your organization that you setup to utilize this WSUS server. I
realize you are likely only concerned with SP3 at this point in time, but
this would not only solve that issue for you but help you control all future
Microsoft releated updates for all of your domain centrally.

Is there not a way to put the network install package in Default Domain
Policy>Computer Configuration>Software Settings>Software Installation ?

I'm sure you could deploy Windows XP SP3 just like you could deploy Windows
XP SP2.

However - I cannot confirm or deny that SP3 would work exactly like SP2.
The multiple computer locations that I configure all have WSUS servers so
that I can remotely control the Microsoft Updates that get rolled out to the
machines more easily.

It does seem to indicate that in the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Overview"
documentation - as it points you to the deployment information for SP2 (and
it was supposedly updated (according to the web page) on 5/6/2008.)

We can deploy through WSUS 3.

Just select service pack in the classifications and synchronise the WSUS server with microsoft.Once its done you can find Service Pack 3 in WSUS console.

Just approve the same for desktops.
