Hi All,

Anyone heard of this one before, i am looking at a Dell Inspiron 1501 and i am getting a message at boot-up telling me that the laptop doesn't recognise the battery?

Any ideas?

Strange thing is however, the indicator o the actual battery says that it has been charging and that it is now full, this strikes me as being a bit bizarre. Ah well, nevermind, i know the outcome now either way! Just wondered if anyone knew any little tricks;)

Thanks Anyway

Have you measured the voltage on the 'charged' battery with a voltmeter?

Even if it showed a charge some laptop batteries have charging circuitry in them which the laptop must recognise for it to function.

If the circuitry's gone belly-up that would stop it working.

And if it doesn't show a charge, well.... ;)
