After installing Sp-2 on a new Dell Dimension system I has some problems
with my Dell 940 Printer.I contacted Dell several times and was told:

Douglas, in order to help you ahead in this issue, we need you to
uninstall Service Pack 2 as there are some compatibility issues with the
Dell hardware. I would therefore request you to please uninstall
Service Pack 2 from your system. The below mentioned link will help you
in uninstalling Service Pack 2 from your system

So what is your point? SP2 installed perfectly on several Dell
and HP computers I upgraded...no issues encountered. Did you
try uninstalling your printer software and downloading the latest
version?

Here is another response from Dell Tech Support.

Dear Dell valued customer,

The previous email agent is currently unavailable. To provide a quicker
response, I am replying to your message.

However, I understand your concerned and like to inform you that Dell is
in the process of researching regarding the Sp 2 issues especially on
the compatibility with the hardware like printer, PDA as well and should
come up with the resolution shortly.

My point is that there is a problem with Dells 940 Printer and Sp-2.

Dell admits it and says to uninstall SP-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I tried reinstalling and latest drivers!!!!

I have tried these drivers and firmware with no luck.Dell said they are
going to release new ones.Either I use my other printer or uninstall SP-2
for now.

I appreciate the links to the updates anyway.
