Delivery Failure Question

Wayne Wengert

I use Outlook 2003 and I have several email accounts that I use in Outlook.
I just added a new email account ([email protected]) and the tests work
fine. I sent an email to that address and I got a delivery failure message:

Permanent Failure:
553_sorry,_that_domain_isn't_in_my_list_of_allowed_rcpthosts_(#5.7.1)

I've never seen this before. Exactly what is it complaining about and how do
I resolve this?

TIA

Some times that error is the result of trying to relay mail from the wrong
SMTP server. Are you connected to the network that includes the SMTP server
you're trying to use?

Thanks for the response.

I connet to the Internet using the service whose SMTP server I specify for
all outgoing mail. What is interesting is that today the new account seems
to be sending mail just fine? I wonder if it had anything to do with the
fact that the domain had just become active a few hours before that error?

Very possible that the name hadn't propagated through everyone's DNS yet.
