Delivering Outlook 2K3 messages to a pst

Hello everyone,

I need your help to resolve a peculiar issue with Outlook 2003.

Outlook 2003 is configured to deliver incoming messages directly to a
pst file. The parameters are OK, but Outlook will not transfer any
incoming message to the pst and always let them in the server mailbox.

I am using Windows 2000 and the messaging server is Exchange 2000.

Thanks for your help and time.

Best regards,
Karim

Hello,

Problem resolved. I reinstalled Outlook 2003 and the delivery to .pst
file works fine.

Why would you want to do this? You are depriving yourself of many of the
reasons for using Exchange in the first place.

Hello,

Actually, Exchange mailbox is limited to 100mb per user and to prevent
blocking the new incoming messages when the mailbox is full, every user
has a configured pst file.

That's still no reason to have the delivery location be a PST. Instead, you
could create a rule that moves al incoming messages to a PST. This would
keep the Calendar and all other non-mail folders on the server where they
belong, giving you the most of the benefits of Exchange while moving the
data taking up the most space off the server.
