i rececntly had to do some development for a client that required
windows vista, so i installed vista on my second hard drive.
after the contract ended, i deleted the windows and users folders. i
didn't repartition the drive like i normally would beecause i have
almost 80gb of data files on the drive as well, and i have no place to
move them, even temporarily.
now, a month later, i notice ALL of these files and folders in the
$recycle bin folder on that drive, and i'm unable to delete them. i'm
less concerned with recovering the space (it's several gb's) than i am
understanding how the files that i had deleted could remain.
my gut tells me my situation is the result of some new redundancy
built into vista, perhaps to rescue the guys who delete these folders
by mistake, but i'm unsure.
can anyone shed some light on my question?
p.s. one thing i do know for sure...microsoft's technet website is as
useless as ever. some things never change. <g>
