deleting Wan Miniport

I seem to have a problem uninstalling Wan Miniport (IP) from device manager
(network adapters).
I get the error "Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required
to boot up the computer.
I've tried to disable it and delete it with no luck. Tried the same thing in
safe mode with
the same result. I even made sure my network card wasn't in the bios boot
cycle.
I went as far as reset the TCP/IP and still nothing.
I'm running Windows xp sp2.

thanks,
Kristopher

How can I find which entry corresponds to this device??

It should include the exact descriptionas it shows up in the Device
Manager somewhere in the key. You could use this string to scan the
Registry and find the entry.
