Deleting very large messages from the outbox

I have a very large file in my outbox that won't send. I want to delete it
but it wont delete and wont move to my deleted items folder.

Put Outlook in offline mode.
Exit Outlook.
Reload Outlook.
Delete the item.
Put Outlook back in online mode.
