Deleting User Account

I am signed on as administrator and cannot delete another user's account.
When it asks me to delete files & account I click delete and it locks up.
When I finally get it to shut down the error message is "MSHTA.EXE" is not
responding. Can anyone give me a clue? I've tried restarting my computer to
no avail. Please help me . . . .

You have mentioned you login with Administrator. (not the user account or your usual account). Very good.
Try a few other things. Restart Windows in Safe Mode. (tap F8 Function key / keep repeating/ as pc is booting up).

Login with Administrator. In the User Accounts module: Try option for Keep Files, instead of Delete Files.
The Keep files will put a new folder on your desktop, which will contain: "deleted account's" files and folders from that desktop, plus the My Documents folder.

Be aware that the email messages & data folders for old user will be gone ! Both in Keep files & Delta files option.

I tried your advice (by the way, thank you) but the computer has a password
to log on to the administrator and I CANNOT remember what it is!! UGH!! I
actually WAS logging on on my account which is labeled "computer
administrator" in regular mode and I can't log on "ADMINISTRATOR" in SAFE
MODE>....any clue how to bypass the password?

If it really had a password, you're stuck. If admin had none, then just press Tab & /or Enter.

THANK YOU!! I'll try it when I get home. I actually went in and manually
deleted all the files I could "see" and suddenly her log on is gone off the
"Welcome Screen". Whatever works. I'm sure there are probably hidden files
relating to that logon though, right?
