Deleting the next section

Good morning,

I have a doc with 2 sections. The 1st contains a block of text at the
bottom of the page and the 2nd does not. For the doc I am working on I will
not need the 2nd section (2nd page).

I have gone to the last line of the 1st section and deleted the 2nd section
however it behaves in a weird way. I end up keeping the data from the 1st
section but the header and footer change to that of the 2nd section.

How can I delete the 2nd section without affecting the first in any way?

Thank you both for the help and reference. Good old Mvps website so good and
yet I completely overlooked it this time!
