My wife's computer (I have not yet upgraded her from WinMe to XP yet)
has a ton of files under the heading c:\windows\Temporary Internet
Files. Can someone here tell me whether it is OK to delete all of
these? Or do I need to post that on a different newsgroup? Thanks.

Yes, the files are safe to remove.

When using a Broadband connection, you can avoid the
retention of IE cache data. Open IE, Tools, Internet Options,
Advanced, Scroll to an option "Empty Temporary Internet
Files when Browser is closed" and place a check in the option box.
This way every time IE is closed, all the caching data is removed
automatically.

Thank you so much. You answered my question and gave me more to keep it
from happening again. I do not care for the cache files anyway. Since I
have broadband, it is fast enough. Thanks again.
