deleting photos

photos copy instead of delete. this whether deleting one
at a time or using "shift" to designate several photos.
do not wish to delete the entire file. help appreciated.

You are probably dragging the file after you click on the file name with
your mouse pointer. If you drag a file out of position while holding the
Shift or Ctrl key down you will start making copies. So click on the first
file, remove your finger from the mouse, move your pointer to the last file,
hold the Shift key down and click on the last file, remove your finger from
the mouse and press Delete.
