Deleting or uninstalling fonts

Hello.

I have several fonts I'd like to delete or uninstall. Every time I try to do
so the following pop-up appears with the following message:

"Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete ABAC: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use."

I picked the above font only to see if I could indeed delete it, which of
course I could not. I have MANY fonts that seem to have been installed when I
downloaded and installed various icons, most of them being from Japan. As a
'side note' I also use 'Font Xplorer' and when I try to uninstall those fonts
from within FX I'm told that those fonts are 'temporarily installed', 'their
file locations are not known' or that 'they can't be used for that kind of
operation'. All of this and I'm still able to actually USE the fonts in
question!?

There's a lot of security features in XP Pro that I don't really know how to
'undo' so that I can delete what ever I wish, even though I am recognized as
the 'Administrator' and am in fact the ONLY person who has access to my PC.

Can someone PLEASE help me?? If memory serves, I do recall having tried to
delete the fonts while in 'safe mode' with no success either (fonts that
cause a particular graphic program I use to crash any time I hover over the
'bad' fonts).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try Regional and Language Options in Control Panel.
Languages tab.
Uncheck both boxes under "Supplemental languages".
