Deleting on of two installed versions of Windows

Recently I had to install a second version of XP because my first version
restarted just as it was about to be loaded (virus or something else). I have
now been able to access my old fields, but still have two versions of
Windows. Is it possible to delete the first version without having to format
the harddisk and do a full recovery?

Thanks. Does this also delete programs and files linked to the version of
Windows that is removed?

Hi,

No, but the programs need to be reinstalled under the new system anyways, so
it will not matter if you delete the former program folders. You may also
find that access to old data files is restricted, this is due to the
security descriptors (SID's) not matching. For this you must "take
ownership", just search on that in the Help & Support dialogs.
