Accessing old files

Hi,

I recently had to reinstall XP because a virus (or something else) restarts
windows just as it is about to being loaded. I therefore installed a second
version of windows where I can see my old files. I am able to access my old
files that are shared, but not those who are not shared. I have a password
protected account in the first, non startable, version of windows. Please help

Take "ownership" of the files. Go to Start | Help and Support and type
ownership in the search box or see this KB article:

Thanks a LOT!!! It worked fine. You made my day. Had a lot of photos and
documents that I thought I had lost. Have a nice weekend.
