I am looking after a Home computer running XPPRO with 4 user accounts.

I would like to be able to delete/disable MSN Messenger (Not Windows
Messenger) for 1 account only.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Additional note, you need to make this change from the account you wish to block access to Messenger on. This may require that you temporarily elevate the account to an Administrator account. Or you can see www.dougknox.com, Win XP Tips, Advanced Registry Editing for a method to make the Registry modification from another account.

Thanks Doug, however the "fix" only applies to version 4.x . The restrictions
have been removed for later versions. Have tried and MSN Messenger keeps on
coming up.
Still stuck !!!!!!

According to RegistryGuides.com, the same setting should work for MSN Messenger.

If MSN Messenger isn't observing the restriction, then you can only prevent it by disallowing the application.

This type of restriction can also be accomplished, on a per user basis, with the licensed version of a utility I created. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Windows XP Security Console.
