InWindows XP when a file is deleted a copy is made and
file is not deleted.

No, in Windows XP, when you delete a file it goes into the Recycle Bin. You
can then choose to delete it permanently or restore it. When you choose to
delete it for good, it is still on your hard drive along with everything
else you "deleted" until it is overwritten by other data.
