deleting files

I have 2 items on my desktop that I want to remove since I don't know how
they got there. 1 says "Ad-Aware SE Personal" and 2 says "aawsepersonal".
When I click on change/remove a box pops up that says can't find Install.log.
What do I do? Thanks for your assistance.

Well - since you had to install these (or some other admininistrator on your
computer did) here is what i suggest..

Go download LavaSoft AdAware (http://lavasoft.de) and install it. Then
Add/Remove Programs control panel and uninstall it.
Done.

I was hoping that I would get some instructions without having to purchase another program. Is Lavasoft the only answer?

Lavasoft Adware SE - the version you have installed supposedly on yor
system - is FREE FOR PERSONAL USE..

Here - instead of you reading and searching around lavasoft's web page for
the link.. Here is one of the ones they list on their page:

Download it, install it.. Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall it.
