Deleting files locks Explorer

IE has been acting strange lately.
To fix it I tried to delete the contents of the temp
folder. Every time I go to tools, Internet Options,
Temporary files and hit delete, IE goes to 99% CPU usage
and stops responding.

So - I went into Windows Explorer and navigated to the
temporary Internet folder. I can delete some files from
this folder fine. Others, when I try to delete them,
cause the same problem above. The program hangs with 99%
procesor usage.
I also can't delete the entire directory.

I have run Chkdsk, both in Windows and during boot. It
doesn't fix the problem.

Hi Buddy,

Have you tried to change the size of the temp folder down to the lowest setting?, this may clear the problem. This setting is in the same area as where you have been trying to Delete the Temporary Files in the Options.
