Deleting files from a network drive

When you delete files from your local machine the files go to the
recycle bin. Is there anyway of enabling this option for files that are
deleted from a networked drive rather than permanently deleting them?

No - XP has no native capability of accomplishing this:

There are third party undelete and recovery tools.
