Deleting/Editing Windows Contact

Whenever I try to delete a contact from Windows Contacts I get a message
saying that Windows Explorer is not working properly and it restarts Windows
Mail.

This message appears when I highlight to contact and use the delete button
on my keyboard or click the delete button. I also get it when I right click
over the contact.

Second, whenever I try to edit the contact name, the right section with the
large icon is correct, however, the normal list stays the same. It's driving
me insane. I thought the problem might be the names. I have two contacts with
the same name, but I've included their middle names which are different,
however the second entry lists the name but has (1) after it.

If anyone has any ideas, please!!!!!!

I had the same problem and did not get a fix for it. It happens in SAFE Mode
but if you open a command window and del a contact it works.
I would do a dir with the name and if I knew it found it I would then do a
delete to it. I think this is a windows problem
something has got hold of the contacts directory and crashing when you
delete an entry but not in a command window.
I ended deleteing the contents for the dir and exported the contacts fro
Outlook and importing it into Windows Mail
Nobody gave me an answer for a real fix I entered the request 4/2/07 in the
mail community.

I'm having the same issue. I tried emailing microsoft for help. They just
replied and said "here are some links to our websites, look for an answer to
your problem". "We hope this helps". What a friggin joke!!!
