When I delete cookies in directory
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Cookies>
And then go into:
IE -> Tools -> Internet options -> General -> Settings -> View Files
there are still some older "User" cookies left.
I notice that when I delete cookies using:
IE -> Tools -> Internet options -> General -> Delete Cookies
that all cookies are deleted.
This behavior seems inconsistent. It looks like there are several
copies of cookies floating around and I don't know which ones are read
by a server when visiting a web site. On the surface one would never
think that a cookie should ever be "cached" on a client machine and
should never be in the temporary internet files directory. You cache
downloaded data not uploaded data.
All I am concerned about is web servers reading my cookies. Is it
acceptable to just delete the cookies in "C:\Documents and
Settings\User\Cookies>" or is this a bad thing to be doing and I
should always delete them using "Internet Options -> General -> Delete
Cookies ????
Thanks for your assistance. Have a nice day...
