Hi, Danu.
First a little nitpicking...
There's Windows Explorer - which shows us directories of our files and
folders.
And there's Internet Explorer - which is a Web browser much like Netscape
Navigator.
And there is a cache (pronounced cash but spelled cache) - which is a place
to store things. Internet Explorer (IE) uses a cache made up of several
files kept on the HD; these are referred to collectively as the Internet
cache, or TIF (Temporary Internet Files).
I haven't used Netscape in years (since IE 4), so I'm not sure how - or if -
it uses TIF or a cache of its own.
To clear IE's cache, start IE, then click Tools | Internet Options... On
the first tab (General), the middle section is where we manage the TIF.
Clear the cache by clicking Delete Files... The cache will begin building
again immediately, of course, as you use IE. There is a setting on the
Advanced tab that you can set to clear the cache each time you quit IE,
which is especially useful if you have broadband and thus can re-download
pages quickly.
