MRU Most Recently Used

I Rarely use the run command. One day I went there,
typed a letter and the "OPEN: drop down list" was filled
to the brim with everywhere I had been and everything I
had ever done. "Hmm I said, the value of this is??????
If I start scrolling I'll be old before I get to the
bottom of the list." I think "Oh yeah, clean the history
in Internet Explorer 6 and Netscape Navigator 4.7". Off
I go Internet Explorer/Tools/General Tab/Delete
Cookies/Delete Files/Delete all offline content/Clear
History.
Then I visit Netscape
navigator/Edit/Preferences/History/Clear History/Clear
Location Bar.
Then I right click the Start button/Properties/Start
menu/Customize/General/Programs/clear List
Whoooohooo I think.
Go back to start/run/and type a letter. whaaaaa, there
are still about 5 left in the list.
Then I remembered I Had installed Netscape Navigator 7
went to a few sites, felt like I was in AOL land, and
then removed it using Add/Remove Programs in the Control
Panel.
Hmm where does it keep this stuff. Asked a friend he
said look in the registry for MRU and reset it. We
looked in the registry, no luck.
I went to help and put in "MRU", all I got was stuff for
95 and 98.
So I put in "MRU Windows XP" got two results, "XP Support
Center" and "Post a Question" So here I am.

Thanks,
William

Hi William, here's the key you're looking for:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU
Good luck.

Besides all that you have done also just clear your most recently opened
document and it will do the job for you.....Right click
'start',,,,'properties'....'customize' start menu, go to advanced and 'clear
list' in the recent documents portion, I guess this will help.
