Deleting bad shortcuts

I am having trouble deleting two bad shortcuts. The
shortcuts are not linked to any source and are really
slow to respond. When I try to delete them I get an
error message that says "Can't Delete file *.lnk:Data
Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
 
Norton System Works (the Win Doctor feature)is very adept
at removing invalid shortcuts.
