When I log in on a certain website I enter my user name and password - which
my Windows XP Home system saved for me. Now that I've changed my username
and password is there a way to delete the wrong one which keeps coming up
and confusing the situation?

Thanks.

Jeff

To remove an AutoComplete entry from a Web form, highlight the item in the
AutoComplete dropdown and press the Delete key.

To remove all Web form AutoComplete entries, go to the Internet Explorer
Tools menu, select Internet Options, Content, AutoComplete, then press the
"Clear Forms" button.

Clear Forms button
[[Click this to clear your History folder of all entries you've previously
made in Web pages. This ensures that nobody else can use your computer and
attempt to view any private information you've previously entered, by
viewing what entries are listed by AutoComplete.]]

To open Stored Usernames and Passwords.
Start | Run | Type or Paste: control keymgr.dll | Click OK
You can Add, Remove or Change the password info

That is what I thought, but it does not work for me. This is a login to my
library webpage. When I drop down the list and highlight the wrong username
(actually the ID number) and press delete, it does not delete it - which is
why I was asking in case I remembered the instructions wrong. If, instead I
right click on the wrong password to see if there is an option to delete it,
it just inserts it.

I also tried the "BK SP" it did no better than when I clicked on DEL.

Don't know what is wrong. I'm using XP Home SP-2

Check the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms

(and subkeys) and see if your information is there. If so, delete there.

BK Sp is Backspace (as marked on my laptop keyboard).

However I solved the problem. The password I wanted to delete were in
Firefox, not IE and I found out how to do it from their support newslist.
Sorry to have troubled everyone.

It was my fault. The browser in question is Firefox, not IE and I found out
how to do it from their support newslist.

Sorry for the confusion.
