Deleting a text box

I downloaded a template from Microsoft office. I can't delete the text box
(which were hints on how to use the template). Any suggestions on how I can
get rid of it?

Usually, you can click on the border of a text box, to select it. Then,
press the Delete key to delete it.

If the worksheet is protected, choose Tools>Protection>Unprotect sheet.
You may be prompted for a password.

Or perhaps the tips are in Data Validation Input Messages.
To remove those, select a cell that displays a message
Choose Data>Validation
Select the Input message tab
Clear the message and title
Click OK
