HELP HELP I desperately need some help here. Somehow, a new wireless network
connection got created on my laptop I use at home so that I can access the
internet from anywhere in my house via a Netgear router that's connected to
the main computer in my office. I need to know how to delete this network.
I've searched everywhere in help and support, faq's, everything I could think
of. All that I could find was info on how to delete the entire wireless
network connections folder. If I do that, I will lose my network connection
which I have no idea how to set it back up. It got screwed up once before and
it took me 3 days and a lot of time on the telephone to get it going again.
All help will be very much appreciated.

Travel to Control Panel / Network Connections. Identify the wireless
connection, then delete it.

What exactly do you want to delete, and why do you want to delete it?

Is it the name of a wireless network that appears when you right-click
the wireless network connection and click View Available Wireless
Networks? Windows XP automatically displays all of the wireless
network that it detects. I don't know of a way to prevent it from
detecting a network, and there's no harm to detecting wireless
networks other than your own.

Does it appear in the list of preferred networks"? If so, click the
name and then click Remove.

Is it a wireless network connection that appears in the Network
Connections folder? Windows XP creates a network connection for each
physical network adapter that's installed in the computer. There's no
direct way to delete such a connection. You can go to Device Manager
and un-install the network adapter, which will delete the connection.
However, Windows will re-install the network adapter and re-create the
network connection when you reboot.

If that doesn't help, please reply to this message in the news group
(not by E-mail) with more information to help other people understand
the problem. Describe exactly what you see and where you see it.
