I have setup a network between two pc's using the wizard in xp pro. It has
all gone wrong and I want to get rid of it so I can start setting up the
network connect again. How do I do it?

START -> Control Panel -> Network Connections

Then delete the relevant connection

It isn't possible to directly delete a network connection in Windows
XP.

Each network connection is associated with a physical network adapter
that's installed on the computer. You can open Device Manager and
uninstall the network adapter, which will also delete the associated
network connection. When XP detects and installs the network adapter
again, it will also create a new network connection.
